Representing Nigeria is more than making a team. It is the result of a pathway built through participation, development, competition and the opportunity to represent Nigeria.
National teams bring together the players, coaches and officials who carry Nigerian netball onto the national and international stage.
A national team is built long before players walk onto an international court. The pathway begins with access to the game and develops through schools, clubs, coaching, structured training, competition and exposure.
Each stage gives players the opportunity to develop their skills, understand the demands of the game and progress towards higher levels of performance. The national team sits at the top of that pathway — bringing together the strongest available talent to compete for Nigeria.
Develop the player. Build the team. Represent Nigeria.
A stronger national team begins with a stronger pathway.
The development of national teams is connected to the wider growth of netball across Nigeria. More opportunities to participate create a larger pool of players. Better coaching and competition create stronger players. A clearer pathway creates greater opportunity for those ready to progress.
The ambition is to build a system in which Nigerian players can move through the game with purpose — from their first experience of netball to the opportunity to compete in the national colours.
Building the foundations of Nigerian netball through the people who carry the game forward.

The national team is where development meets representation.
Behind every national-team appearance is a wider system of players, coaches, preparation, competition and shared responsibility.
Nigeria's national teams bring together players selected to represent the country in national and international competition.
Selection is part of a wider player pathway, bringing together talent, preparation, teamwork and the ability to perform at a higher level of the game.
The pathway begins with participation and develops through coaching, structured training, competition, talent identification and progressive player development.
The aim is to create clearer opportunities for players to develop and progress towards representative competition.
Netball has seven playing positions: Goal Shooter, Goal Attack, Wing Attack, Centre, Wing Defence, Goal Defence and Goal Keeper.
Each position has a defined role and area of the court, making positional discipline and teamwork central to the way the game is played.
The captain provides leadership within the playing group and helps carry the team's identity and standards onto the court.
Captaincy is about more than wearing the armband. It carries responsibility for representing the team and the country.
The playing group works alongside the team's coaching and management structure.
Coaches are responsible for technical and tactical preparation, while team management supports the organisation and operation required around the team.
Wearing the national colours means carrying the identity of Nigerian netball into competition.
It means competing as part of a team, representing the country with purpose and helping build a stronger presence for Nigerian netball.
National teams provide Nigeria with a pathway into representative competition beyond the domestic game.
Continental and international competitions provide opportunities for Nigerian players to test themselves, gain experience and establish Nigeria within the wider netball community.
The work continues beyond any single competition. Stronger player development, more opportunities to compete and a broader pathway are essential to building the future of Nigerian national teams.
The objective is to keep expanding the pathway so that more Nigerian players can develop, progress and ultimately have the opportunity to represent their country.
